the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Minister of Education, Culture,
Sports, Science and Technology must publish matters relating to such notification.
(Operations)
Article 21
Designated Corporations shall conduct operations cited below.
(1) Accept consignment made according to stipulations in Section 1 under Article 9 and
manage facilities that comprise space that symbolize symbiosis of ethnic groups.
(2) Conduct operations relating to nurturing of individuals that inherit the Ainu culture, as
well as other activities for promoting the Ainu culture.
(3) Conduct publicity activities relating to the tradition and the like of the Ainu, as well as
other activities for disseminating knowledge and raising awareness about Disseminate
and raise awareness about the Ainu culture, etc.
(4) Conduct investigations or research that contribute to the promotion of the Ainu culture.
(5) Provide advice, aid and other assistance to individuals who are engaged in
investigations or research that contribute to the promotion of the Ainu culture,
dissemination of knowledge and awareness raising about the Ainu tradition and the like.
(6) Conducting operations that are necessary for promotion of Ainu culture, other than
those cited in respective paragraphs above.
(Management Operation Regulation for Facilities That Comprise Space That Symbolize
Symbiosis of Ethnic Groups)

Article 22
Section 1
Designated Corporations shall establish a regulation (hereinafter referred to as the
“Management Operation Regulation for Facilities That Comprise Space That Symbolize
Symbiosis of Ethnic Groups”) pertaining to the operation cited in Section 1 of the
preceding article (hereinafter referred to as the “Management Operation for Facilities That
Comprise Space That Symbolize Symbiosis of Ethnic Groups”) and must receive approval
by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Minister of Education,
Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The same shall apply for changes made.
Section 2
The Management Operation Regulation for Facilities That Comprise Space That
Symbolize Symbiosis of Ethnic Groups must stipulate the method for managing operation
of facilities that comprise space that symbolize symbiosis of ethnic groups, as well as
entrance fees for the Facilities That Comprise Space That Symbolize Symbiosis of Ethnic
Groups and the like, as stipulated by ordinance of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and
Transport and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
Section 3
The Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Minister of Education, Culture,
Sports, Science and Technology shall have the right to order a Designated Corporation to
implement changes when a Management Operation Regulation for Facilities That
Comprise Space That Symbolize Symbiosis of Ethnic Groups certified according to the
stipulation of Section 1 is deemed to have become inappropriate for the appropriate and
reliable management operation of the relevant Facilities That Comprise Space That
Symbolize Symbiosis of Ethnic Groups.
